Isaiah 33:2 “O Lord, be gracious to us; we wait for you. Be our strength every morning.”
How do you start each morning in light of the responsibilities and events you are to face for the day? We can all agree that we live in a world and culture that pose challenging issues that impact us individually and as a family. As I write this today, the war in Israel is raging after brutal atrocities and evil slaughtering of God’s chosen people and other innocent lives. Whether we like it or not or even acknowledge it, our lives will be impacted as good versus evil continues around us. We can add all the turmoil, unrest, division, civil disobedience and economic challenges to the list of daily life. Where do Christian leaders find the strength to face such challenges? We find this strength in God’s Word and Promises and recognize that He is in control.
Isaiah 33:2
We find that He is our strength every morning and every day. He cares for us and gives us the strength to lead our lives, homes, churches, workplaces and communities. We don’t go in alone. He is with us and we must never forget it and live in peace and confidence. Habakkuk 3:19 says it well, “The Lord God is my strength.” Our strength should begin every morning with time in God’s Word and in prayer to claim these promises. I do not know how many times when facing tough situations and decisions that God has spoken to my spirit saying, “Dean, trust me. I have everything under control, God.” Place your name in this great promise for it is the source of real strength in life and how you lead.
