Christian Leaders Follow Truth

Posted by Dean Gage

John 17:17 Sanctify them in the truth; your Word is truth.

Throughout God’s Word, we are told time and again that His Word is truth.  It is absolute truth without exception.  We also find that Jesus Christ is the word of truth in John 1:1 & 14 “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and Word was God…” And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truthLeaders always follow before they lead.  Jesus always followed His Father in His leadership and leading others.  God’s Word is truth and Jesus Christ is God’s Word.  I would say that Jesus proved to be a good follower of His Father.  We have to ask ourselves “who or what do we follow?”  Jesus is the way and the truth that we must always follow as we lead.

Christian Leaders Follow Truth

John 17:17

Years ago, Mark Twain could never have described our world today any better than when he said, “If you don’t read the newspaper, you will be uninformed; if you do read the newspaper, you will be misinformed.”  In our day when the media and entertainment world have been taken over by the deception and often fake news of the enemy, we have one source of truth we should always follow.  It is the Word of Truth and Jesus Christ.  Jesus said some 70 times in Scripture these words, “I tell you the truth.”  As a leader and follower of Christ, we must base our lives and leadership decisions on the this truth.  Not only is it the only way to salvation and relationship with God the Father, it is our guide as we live life.  We have so many media outlets today that I doubt few people are uninformed.  However, many are misinformed due to the motive and untruth of the enemy.  For the Christian leader, we should always follow the source of all truth who promises this, “I tell you the truth.”  You are always going to follow someone or something; why not make it Jesus?
