Jeremiah 29:11  “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” 

Some of the most difficult challenges men face today as leaders are time management and giving priority to what is really important. We live in a busy and hurry-up world with so many demands on our time that we often feel overwhelmed. We struggle to manage all that is on our plate and to spend both quantity and qualify time with those whom we love and lead. When we recognize and accept God’s plans for our lives, we can then prioritize our time management and receive God’s welfare, future, and hope. It all begins with the priority and commitment we make to spend time with the Lord every day in His Word, in prayer, and in meditation.

Our next priority must be the relationships we have with our family and to lead them well. Often for them, love is spelled time with them. We must never get so busy that we busy ourselves out of their lives. We must take time to stop and listen for them to realize how important they are and that you want what is best for them. Work is another area of priority which can become out of balance and can take away from family. Yes, we are to never become lazy and not provide for our families. However, we must not become so consumed with work that we neglect them and not give them the time they want and need. An important part of time management should be our time with the family of God and to find a place of service and ministry. If you are not sure what that is, ask God and He will show you his plans for you to follow. We must also remember that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit which require that we take care of them with nutrition, rest and exercise. We make time available for that which we feel is important. These areas are important to each of us as we live out God’s plans in our lives. Manage your time correctly. It’s in your hands and no one else. Once it has passed, you cannot get it back.
