Matthew 24:36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.”
I am going to start with a personal question to each of us, including myself. “If you thought that the Rapture and Jesus coming in the clouds for us would happen today, how would you live this day before you?” In light of the world events of the past few years consistent with Scripture and the current war in Israel, many articles, books, podcasts and television programs are focusing on the prophesy and fulfillment of God’s Word. Most respected Biblical scholars feel that the Rapture could occur any day because of what God’s Word describes would occur. No one can predict the day or time and God the Father is the only One who knows. However, we are told in Scripture that it will occur and we are to be ready the same as if this was our last day of live on earth. This is a date we also do not know. God is in control and the world is on his timeline for everything that happens or will happen.
Matthew 24:36
“Would you live differently today if you thought the Rapture was to occur today?” Would you spend more time in God’s Word and in prayer? Would you specifically watch to not fall into sin today? Would you love, honor and respect your wife more today? Would you be more patient with your children and teach them more of God’s Word? Would you be a better worker or boss today? Would you be more committed to your pastor and church? Would you witness to someone who needs Jesus? In your daily walk, would you exhibit the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control? My guess is that both you and I would behave far differently if this was our thought for the day. However, as a Christian and leader, we should live today exactly like we thought Jesus was coming today. It is going to happen some day for each of us one way or another whether the Rapture or our last day of life. We hear a lot about making investments during our time on earth for ourselves, our retirement and our families. We often think of these in the arena of the material. But, it is the spiritual that is more valuable. It is time for us to commit to “invest our lives in something that will outlive our life on earth.” Jesus Christ is that investment Who makes the “what if today” eternally secure.
