Philippians 1:6 “And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

If you live in the Bryan/College Station area, you will clearly understand the statement, “Under Construction.” It is frustrating during the long periods and delays in the construction work, and we don’t often see the benefits before it is completed. For years now, almost every road and traffic artery in our area have been under construction and much more is planned for the next ten years. Why? It is to accommodate the increased population, growth and safety issues. It is progress to meet the needs of people and to lead us into the future. However, we must endure the growing pains of ongoing construction for the good work and life to advance. All of these projects follow a blueprint prepared by experts to finish the construction.

Our lives and leadership abilities are no different, and we must accept God’s hand in the construction of our lives and leadership with the promise that He will bring it to completion. We will always be under construction as a Christian and “everything that is alive is still growing.” Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we are alive and are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works. Just as our area Metropolitan Planning Organization is preparing and planning the construction of our road systems, God has already prepared beforehand the blueprint of where we should walk and this requires construction of our lives. The construction of our lives will never be completed until we meet Jesus, and this is a great promise. With all our road construction projects, I am not sure that they will be completed until Jesus comes back. But, what would happen if we stopped the construction? And, what would happen in our lives if we told the Lord that we don’t need any new repairs, maintenance or construction? That would be pride and arrogance where the roads of life would take us to places that we do not want to go. God has a blueprint for the construction of our lives, and we must obediently allow Him to be the Master Contractor to finish the job.”
