Leaders Look on the Bright Side

Posted by Dean Gage

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.”

Life can sometimes look like a mess of tangled threads that don’t make sense or reflect a purpose and meaning. We have on the walls in our home several cross-stitch hangings which show a beautiful picture of something with meaning and purpose. When we have reframed some of them and look at the back, all you see is a tangled mess of threads crossed and twisted together. It gives an impression of a mistake and that someone had no idea of what they were doing. When it is turned over, you can see something beautiful and meaningful. I call this the “bright side.”

“Leaders Look on the Bright Side”

Ephesians 2:10

Life is much like this. A leader should look on the bright side and understand that the strands underneath that don’t seem to fit together have been carefully woven by God. We do not always see the bright side if we focus on the backside. In time, we will see how God’s hand has woven and cross-stitched the strands of our life into what He wants to picture us in Christ. We can then better understand the bright side and beauty which is the other side of tangled threads underneath. The bright side may not be seen for a period of time until we can see what God is making. Remember that you are God’s workmanship and a masterpiece created in Christ Jesus. He is the artist, so don’t jump off the canvas. Let Him complete His work.
