Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”

We don’t normally get up each day thinking that we will be in a spiritual battle and in a war that is waged against us as a Christian man. However, that is exactly the case. It is a battle that we did not start, did not declare, did not choose; but is real and becoming more intense every day. It is a spiritual battle for the very soul of ourselves, our families, and our culture. The enemy is real and knows how to attack. Satan knows that if he can destroy the man, he can destroy the home; which is the basic foundation of society established by God himself. Today, men must understand the enemy and the battle and take up the full armor of God as described in Ephesians 6 to defend, protect, and have victory. Corrie ten Boom said, “The first step on the way to victory is to recognize the enemy.”

In recent years and accelerated in the past few months, the schemes of the devil have become more prevalent and expanded in our culture and nation because of political decisions and the lack of our standing strong in this war. The battle we are facing today was described a few years ago by Robert Bork in his book, Slouching Toward Gomorrah. He stated, “So unrelenting is the assault on our sensibilities that many of us grow numb, finding resignation to be the rational, adaptive response to an environment that is increasingly polluted and apparently beyond our control. As behavior worsens, the community adjusts its standards so that conduct once thought reprehensible is not longer deemed so and becomes accepted.” This describes the anti-Christian culture and battle we face today. The enemy is recognizable. We have the armor of God which we must use to lead and protect our homes and families. We may be outnumbered, but God has and will forever give victory to those who trust in him. Men, you have no greater call today than to prepare for battle every day and lead your family warriors to victory.
