Adult Life Groups

We all make lifetime decisions, some of which change during our lifetime, while others do not and should not. We make decisions about marriage, children, education, job/career, place to live and many others. People may tell us that a decision we make is a once in a lifetime decision. Jesus made a once in a lifetime decision that never needed to be made again. A once in a lifetime decision will impact all our other decisions for the rest of our lives and the people with whom we live and lead. Jesus made his once in a lifetime decision when he voluntarily died on the cross to provide us the one way to salvation. Not only was it a once in a lifetime decision but it was a once for all decision. Philippians 2:10 tells us “that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” It is not a matter of “if” but a matter of “when.” It’s either now in grace or then in judgment. It is a lifetime decision that every person will have to make, one way or another.
1 PETER 3:18
While becoming a Christian is a once in a lifetime decision, living and being a Christian is a daily, ongoing experience and relationship. It means that we put Christ first and bring our will into submission to Him. We need to die-to-self each morning. We should live in accordance with God’s Word and the Holy Spirit now living in us. We should start each day asking and giving the control of lives to Him. If we do, we may well be making other once in a lifetime decisions that will impact our lives, others around us and eternity. There are days when this will be easy and other days when it will be hard. However, there is no question but what it is best. This year of 2020 is one of the most challenging in the history of the world. We all know that 20/20 vision is considered perfect vision. Maybe God is using 2020 for us to see clearly that He is in control and the only one with perfect vision who can see ahead and lead us through it. His vision has already seen what 2021 will look like. Remember this, “Over 2000 years ago Jesus ended the debate of which lives matter. He died for all!”
