2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land”
This Leadership Challenge is written on Memorial Day which should be a day we honor God and our inheritance and those who have given of themselves to protect it. America is a gift of God given to us by the sacrifice of many people over the years committed to our freedom and religious liberty. We have been blessed more than any other nation in history, but we are now giving it away to the enemy by ignoring who gave it to us and the foundations upon which this inheritance was founded. Can this sad movement be reversed? It can be, but will it be, is the real question before us. The answer is given in our verse this week.
2 CHRONICLES 7:14
Have you ever known someone who was given a large inheritance of great value and then witnessed them to have squandered, neglected and lost it? As Christian leaders and men of God, it is our responsibility to lead our families to pray for the inheritance God has given us and to make certain that the inheritance of Christ will always be priority one in our own families. Our only hope for our nation is to be obedient to humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face and turn from our increasingly wicked ways. God will then hear from heaven, forgive us and heal our land. This is the pattern of God throughout the history of the world and He never changes. It is like so much of God’s Word where there is a command followed by a promise. You and I have been given an inheritance unmatched by any other the world has ever known. It is one of great value and principle but we see it being squandered on things that cannot last and given over to the enemy. Christian leaders must protect this spiritual inheritance and lead our families by sharing and protecting what has been given us. We can join together and pray 2 Chronicles 7:14 back to God every day. God honors our praying His Word back to him. The inheritance we leave our families depends on it.
